Possui, segundo o Censo IBGE do ano de 2010, uma população de 108.107 habitantes, sendo o décimo primeiro município mais populoso do estado. Destaca-se como o município com maior densidade demográfica de Santa Catarina, com mais de 2.350 habitantes por km². Balneário Camboriú possui uma das maiores densidades de prédios do Brasil. Apesar de possuir pouco mais de 100.000 habitantes, sua estrutura de edifícios comporta aproximadamente 1 milhão de pessoas, marca frequentemente ultrapassada na alta temporada.

Camboriú is a municipality in the state of Santa Catarina. It is part of the metropolitan area of Foz do Rio Itajaí, in the north coast of the state.

It has, according to the IBGE Census of 2010, a population of 108,107 inhabitants and is the eleventh most populous municipality in the state. Stands out as the largest municipality with a population density of Santa Catarina, with more than 2,350 inhabitants per km ². Camboriú has one of the highest densities of buildings in Brazil. Despite having little more than 100,000 inhabitants, its structure building holds approximately 1 million people, marks the high season often exceeded.

O Jardim da Luz é um parque público com 113.400 m², localizado na avenida Tiradentes, região da Luz, na cidade de São Paulo, Brasil. Está ao lado da Estação da Luz, próximo ao Museu de Arte Sacra de São Paulo e ao Departamento Histórico da Prefeitura do Município. No Jardim, encontra-se a sede da Pinacoteca de São Paulo.

Originalmente um jardim botânico, foi transformado em jardim público no fim do século XIX. Em 1900 foi aí inaugurada a sede do Liceu de Artes e Ofícios de São Paulo, prédio que atualmente abriga a supracitada Pinacoteca.

Durante grande parte do século XX o Jardim passou um grave período de degradação, servindo de zona de prostituição e tráfico de drogas. A situação persiste mesmo com uma política de revitalização da região central anunciada pela Prefeitura e Governo do Estado.

The Jardim da Luz (Garden of Light) is a public park with 113,400 square meters, located on Avenida Tiradentes, a region of Luz in Sao Paulo, Brazil. It is next to the Luz Station, near the Museum of Sacred Art of Sao Paulo and the Historical Department of the Municipality. In the Garden, is the seat of the Pinacoteca of São Paulo.

Originally a botanical garden was transformed into a public garden in the late nineteenth century. In 1900 there was inaugurated the headquarters of the School of Arts and Letters of Sao Paulo building that currently houses the Pinacoteca above.

For much of the twentieth century the Garden has a period of severe degradation, serving as the area of prostitution and drug trafficking. The situation persists even with a policy of revitalizing the central city hall and announced by the State Government.

O Carnaval é um período de festas regidas pelo ano lunar no Cristianismo da Idade Média. O período do Carnaval era marcado pelo "adeus à carne" ou "carne vale" dando origem ao termo "Carnaval". Durante o período do Carnaval havia uma grande concentração de festejos populares. Cada cidade brincava a seu modo, de acordo com seus costumes. O Carnaval moderno, feito de desfiles e fantasias, é produto da sociedade vitoriana do século XIX. A cidade de Paris foi o principal modelo exportador da festa carnavalesca para o mundo. Cidades como Nice, Nova Orleans, Toronto e Rio de Janeiro se inspirariam no Carnaval parisiense para implantar suas novas festas carnavalescas.
Em 2005 o Carnaval de Salvador, Bahia, Brasil está no Guinness Book como a maior festa de rua do mundo.[1] Recife, Pernambuco, Brasil possui o maior bloco de carnaval do mundo, o Galo da Madrugada.

Mendigo, mendicante, morador de rua ou sem-teto é o indivíduo que vive em extrema carência material, não podendo garantir a sua sobrevivência com meios próprios. Tal situação de indigência material força o indivíduo a viver na rua, perambulando de um local a outro, recebendo o adjetivo de vagabundo, ou seja, aquele que vaga, que tem uma vida errante.
O estado de indigência ou mendicância é um dos mais graves dentre as diversas gradações da pobreza material.

No Brasil, numa tentativa de abordar de forma mais politicamente correta a questão dos que vivem em carência material absoluta, criou-se a expressão moradores de rua para denominar este grupo social.
Segundo a Fundação Instituto de Pesquisas Econômicas (Fipe), em 2003 havia cerca de 10.700 moradores de rua na cidade de São Paulo.

Photo: Raphael Castello. The Salar de Uyuni salt flat is the largest in the world. It is located in the Potosí Department and the Department of Oruro, in southwestern Bolivia, the Andean highlands, to 3.650m above sea level.

About 40,000 years ago, the area was part of Lake Michina, a giant prehistoric lake. When the lake dried up and left as the current remaining Poopó and lakes Uru Uru, and two great deserts, salted Coipasa (smallest) and extensive Uyuni. The Salar de Uyuni has approximately 12,000 square kilometers in area, or is larger than Lake Titicaca on the border between Peru and Bolivia and has approximately 8300 km ².

Fish Island.

It is estimated that the Salar de Uyuni contains 10 billion tons of salt, of which less than 25,000 are extracted annually. Cerca de 40.000 anos atrás, a área era parte do Lago Michin, um gigantesco lago pré-histórico. Quando o lago secou, deixou como remanescentes os atuais lagos Poopó e Uru Uru, e dois grandes desertos salgados, Coipasa (o menor) e o extenso Uyuni. O Salar de Uyuni tem aproximadamente 12.000 km² de área, ou seja, é maior que o lago Titicaca, situado na fronteira entre o Peru e a Bolívia e que apresenta aproximadamente 8.300 km².

Ilha do Pescado.

Estima-se que o Salar de Uyuni contenha 10 bilhões de toneladas de sal, das quais menos de 25.000 são extraídas anualmente. Além da extração de sal, o salar também é um importante destino turístico. Seus principais pontos de visitação são o hotel de sal, desativado, e a Ilha do Pescado, com suas formações de recife e os cactos de até 10 metros de altura.

No início de novembro, quando começa o verão, é lar de três espécies sul-americanas de flamingos: o chileno, o andino e o flamingo de James. Os flamingos aparecem no verão pois é quando se inicia o período de chuvas e também quando acontece o descongelamento das geleiras nos Andes que deixa o salar coberto de água, tornando-o um imenso lago com profundidade média de 30 cm. Nesse período, ele parece um enorme espelho que se confunde no horizonte com o céu. Assim os passeios ficam restritos a algumas áreas. Entretanto, entre abril e novembro todo o salar fica acessível, pois torna-se um imenso deserto seco com uma paisagem ainda mais exótica.

O salar é composto por aproximadamente 11 camadas com espessuras que variam entre 2 e 10 metros, sendo a mais externa de 10 metros. A profundidade total é estimada em 120 metros e é composta de uma mistura de salmoura e barro lacustre. O salar é também uma das maiores reservas de lítio do mundo, além de conter importantes quantidades de potássio, boro e magnésio.

Além do deserto de sal, ilha do Pescado e as lagoas coloridas onde se vê os flamingos, é possível, num mesmo "tour", conhecer lagoas de águas termais, sendo uma delas formada de piscinas e a outra natural. Também existem geiseres que exalam vapor a uma temperatura de 38°C, a mesma temperatura da água. Outro local interessante é um cemitério com ossadas de antigos moradores da região.

O título Mind the gap é uma alusão ao aviso sonoro característico do metrô de Londres que, numa tradução livre do inglês, seria: atenção para o vão, neste caso o espaço livre entre o trem e a plataforma de embarque. Entretanto, a palavra gap também pode significar espaço ou lapso, associados à noção de ao tempo. Sua oportuna apropriação, neste caso, se vale dessa duplicidade semântica para intitular uma exposição cuja curadoria opera, paralela e simultaneamente, duas leituras poéticas de um mesmo espaço, separadas, contudo, por um significativo lapso de tempo, que são as duas viagens da artista à capital do Reino Unido: a primeira em 1989 e a outra em 2009.

'Embora para um mesmo destino, duas décadas separam a produção de Ana Lucia, que se mostra peculiar em cada período, tanto em sua forma quanto em sua execução. Ambas fazem parte de sua sintaxe mais ampla, que reúne seus primeiros trabalhos com aqueles de sua produção mais madura", pondera o curador Juan Esteves, que criou 14 duplos fotográficos dos diferentes períodos com ampliações justapostas.

Para ele, o diálogo da produção em 35 mm e preto e branco de outrora e a mais recente, realizada formato 6x6 colorido, ressalta que as propostas imagéticas da artsita nunca deixaram de avançar e que continuam aguçando seus sentidos.

Ana Lucia Mariz (São Paulo, 1968) é graduada em Comunicação Social pela FAAP. Em sua pesquisa poética utiliza a linguagem fotográfica, propondo a reflexão dos desdobramentos entre os limites da fotografia e a narrativa. Ana Lucia cria um mundo imaginário extraído de sonhos e da realidade cotidiana. Suas imagens nos conduzem a um mundo fantástico, onde há uma tensão de limites, propiciando o diálogo entre real e irreal, fantasia e memória.

Apresentou mostra a individual Alma Secreta no Museu da Misericórdia, Salvador (2010) e na Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo (2005). He is being held in Brazil in 2010 the XII Population Census, a survey covering the entire country with the population profile and characteristics of their households.

IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) will hold in 2010 the XII Population Census, which aims to be the big picture in breadth and depth of the Brazilian population and its socioeconomic characteristics and at the same time, the basis on which should settle all public and private planning of the next decade in Brazil.

The 2010 Census is a survey of the entire body of the country with the population profile and characteristics of their households, that is, it will show us how the Brazilians are, where they are and how they live.

The preparatory phase of the census operation began in 2007 and his works were intensified from 2008. The collection is set to begin on 1 August 2010 and early disclosure of results in December of that year.

O IBGE (Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística) realizará no ano de 2010 o XII Censo Demográfico, que pretende ser o grande retrato em extensão e profundidade da população brasileira e das suas características sócio-econômicas e, ao mesmo tempo, na base sobre a qual deverá se assentar todo o planejamento público e privado da próxima década no Brasil.

O Censo 2010 será um levantamento de corpo inteiro do país com o perfil da população e as características de seus domicílios, ou seja, ele nos mostrará como os brasileiros são, onde estão e como vivem.

A fase preparatória da operação censitária teve início em 2007 e seus trabalhos foram intensificados a partir de 2008. A coleta está fixada para começar em 1º de agosto de 2010 e o início da divulgação dos resultados em dezembro do mesmo ano.

Luz Station

The Luz Station is a metro-rail station located in the neighborhood of Light in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Integrates the rail transport network of the Company of Metropolitan Trains and the São Paulo Metro.

The station was built at the end of the nineteenth century in order to host the newly created St. Paul Railway Company, of British origin, so as to be in the parade in Sao Paulo to its railway line, which went to Santos, on the coast of the state the Jundiaí inside. In the first decades of the twentieth century was the main gateway to the city of São Paulo. Its greatest importance, however, was provided economic infrastructure for the country, passing by the coffee to be exported at the port of Santos, and also went there consumer goods and imported capital which supplied the town (in a stage yet few industries).

The current Station was built between 1900 and 2010, instead of the original 1867 Light Station. Presumably chosen in a catalog for English local authorities, the metal structure of cast iron that gives lift was brought from England by way of pre-molded pieces and assembled here - the masonry of the station, however, is of local origin. Its design is attributed to the English engineer Henry Driver, which was similar to the Flinders Street Station, an existing station in Melbourne, Australia.

In the 1940s the station caught fire and after retirement, has added a new floor in the administrative block. From this period, the railway began a process of degradation in Brazil, as the neighborhood of light, leading to the station also deteriorate.

In the decades of 1990 and 2000 went through a series of reforms, one of which headed by architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha and his son Pedro Mendes da Rocha - which was designed to adapt it to receive the Museum of the Portuguese Language.

A Estação da Luz é uma estação metro-ferroviária localizada no bairro da Luz, na cidade de São Paulo, Brasil. Integra a rede de transportes sobre trilhos da Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos e do Metrô de São Paulo.

A Estação foi construída no fim da século XIX com o objetivo de sediar a recém-criada Companhia São Paulo Railway, de origem britânica, assim como de se constituir na parada paulistana de sua linha ferroviária, a qual ia de Santos, no litoral do estado, a Jundiaí, no interior. Nas primeiras décadas do século XX, foi a principal porta de entrada à cidade de São Paulo. Sua maior importância, no entanto, era na condição de infra-estrutura econômica para o país: por ali passava o café a ser exportado no porto de Santos, assim como também ali chegavam bens de consumo e de capital importados que abasteciam a cidade (em uma fase ainda pouco industrializada).

A atual Estação foi construída entre 1900 e 2010, no lugar da original Estação da Luz de 1867. Presumivelmente escolhida em um catálogo inglês pelas autoridades locais, a estrutura metálica de ferro fundido que lhe dá sustentação foi trazida da Inglaterra, por meio de peças pré-moldadas e montada aqui - a alvenaria da estação, no entanto, é de origem local. Seu projeto é atribuído ao engenheiro inglês Henry Driver, sendo similar à Flinders Street Station, uma estação existente em Melbourne, Austrália.

Na década de 1940 a Estação sofreu um incêndio e após a reforma, foi-lhe adicionado um novo pavimento no bloco administrativo. A partir deste período, o transporte ferroviário entrou em um processo de degradação no Brasil, assim como o bairro da Luz, levando a Estação a igualmente degradar-se.

Nas décadas de 90 e 2000 passou por uma série de reformas, uma das quais encabeçada pelo arquiteto Paulo Mendes da Rocha e seu filho Pedro Mendes da Rocha - a qual teve como intenção adaptá-la a receber o Museu da Língua Portuguesa.
